About Us
"You Have A Friend Incorporated" is a registered NSW not for profit charity.
The Board Members, are a group of dedicated men and women who voluntarily
support the marginalised and those less fortunate than ourselves in South East Queensland and the northern New South Wales district of Australia.
Our knowledge, skills and experiences now melds a group of people, with the same goals and dedicated to supporting the marginalised by way of street outreaching, accommodation, food and safe shelter. Our work also brings us into contact with domestic violence and other abused and desperate victims who need to be located in safe environments.
Over the years, some of us have voluntarily worked with an assortment of charities, but often, through necessity, we have been forced to provide support to our friends on the street, paying for outlays from our own pockets. Working as individuals, frustrations over "red tape" and encountering other problems at times made our support to the marginalised difficult or almost impossible.
With this in mind, we register our own charity - "You Have A Friend" on 1 May 2008.
As a team, we put to use our skills and knowledge and are confident that as a group of like minded people, we can more effectively advocate and provide the support we believe is necessary for our "friends" in this ever changing world
Being a totally not for profit organisation all Board Members are unpaid volunteers and we rely totally on other volunteers to assist us in supporting mothers, children, youth, men and women who desperately need our help.
Our only source of income is through donations and fundraising. We are always most appreciative of financial support for much needed supplies. Volunteers are also always welcomed in our charity. All donations go to the support of those in need in the Tweed District

Some Statistics
- We were registered as a NSW not-for-profit charity on 1st May 2008 and started with 6 volunteers.
- We currently have 80 registered active volunteers (Dec 2012).
- We operate in the Tweed district of Australia in Coolangatta, Tweed Heads, Murwillumbah and Chinderah adn Mt. Warning.
- We provide breakfast, lunch and supper to our friends each week.
- We have regular teams of volunteers operating on a roster basis
- We support 4 caravan parks in Chinderah and Murwillumbah and Mt. Warning
- We provide over 320 meals weekly
- Our friends range in age from 4 years to over 70 years old.
